With the passing of the weeks he started feeling more comfortable, but I could not get him to stay for more than 20 minutes. Until I had prepared a necklace for him, to make with colored wooden beads. I would have never guessed he would love that so much!
Now, no matter what I prepare for him, he'll only do it as long as he can make his necklace afterwards. If I forget to put it out for him, he'll get it himself. He is so eager to come to therapy that he even forgets which day is his day and skips his fellow group members for his turn!
I am glad I found a way to motivate him to stay and work. Stimulating his fine motor skills and concentration at the same time. I even noticed that when he's making his necklace, he stops humming..!
